SHS Campaign Letter for 2017

This is our 2017 annual fundraising letter for the SHS Scholarships Program Fund. It is mailed to all previous donors plus others who have yet to become annual donors. This Fund is managed by The Springfield Foundation. Recent donations and interest have raised our total to just over $26,000+.

I recently attended our 60th Class of 1957 SHS Reunion. It has been managed over the years by Ron McGonigal, as well as other SHS projects. He recently passed away. To honor Ron, we made our 2017 Scholarship award in his memory to Ms Erica Badgeley. This is our third grant and was valued at $850. The criteria used for selecting recipients are Service to school & community, Positive Leadership, Academic Performance and Need.

If you wish to remember Ron McGonigal this year with your “tax deductible” donation, please add his name to the subject line of your check. I told our classmates that Sally and I would match your donations honoring Ron up to $5,000.

In addition, my cousin Danny Hutslar just passed recently. To honor his memory, donations may be sent directly to the Lagonda Elementary School PTA in Springfield and/or the SHS Scholarships Fund.

By the way, we have received an anonymous pledge to include the SHS Scholarships in their will. It is likely to be in the six figure range. Speak with Ms Victoria or Ms Teresa at The Springfield Foundation if you wish to include the SHS Scholarships in a portion of your estate. Our goal is $1,000,000.

Please send all SHS contributions to: The Springfield Foundation. c/o SHS Scholarships. 333 N. Limestone, Suite 201. Springfield, Ohio 45503. 937 324-8773. www.SpringfieldFoundation.org.

Crucial Note … Please share this letter with your family, classmates and all other SHS, North & South grads. At this time, our annual letter is By Far the single most effective fundraising technique for the SHS Scholarships. Thanks for sharing this letter.

When you help our SHS Grads, you help Springfield.

Thanks for your continued support. Sincerely yours,

Jack Hutslar
