Notes for donors

Talking Points for Donors and Helpers

As you spread the word about the SHS Scholarships Program among your classmates, friends and co-workers, here are a few talking points that you may print out to use or handout to your audience.

• We have mailed nearly 300 letters to all donors plus SHS North and South grads and businesses, all of whom have yet to become donors.

• Now, we begin knocking on e-doors through social media. We need you to become an annual donor and help us spread the word. 800 767-4916.

• See Jack57shs on twitter and JackHutslar on Facebook, LinkedIN plus the “News” button at www.SHSscholarships.com.

• How you can help. Retweet these tweets on your pages and spread the word on your social media sites including Facebook and LinkedIN.

• And, of course, become an annual donor to the SHS Scholarships Program. That sets a good examples for others.

• If you want to go an extra mile, then ask a classmate, friend, relative or business owner to become an annual donor starting in 2012.

• When sending your donation to The Springfield Foundation, please designate it for the SHS Scholarships Program.

• Now we are relying on SHS North and South grads from all graduating classes to become annual donors. See www.SHSscholarships.com for details.

$20.12 would be a nice start for your annual donation. Or $201.20 or even $2,012.00.

• We have received $7,600+ in donations, and we need

1) $35,000 in donations to begin making SHS awards.
2) 1-2-3 families or companies to start or help us link with annual fundraising activities.

• There are six (6) scholarship programs at The Springfield Foundation JUST for SHS graduates. Some have very specific awards criteria.

• SHS has a total of just 10 scholarships for our new SHS grads. In 2011, SHS grads received 74 scholarships grants. They received 104 in 2012.

• Criteria for SHS awards are

Leadership.
Service.
Academic performance.
Need.

• Leadership and Service is achieved by participation in school and community activities regardless of grades plus staying out of trouble, of course.

SHS Scholarships Program is not affiliated with nor supported by the Springfield (Ohio) School System.
